A.J. Bingham is CEO of BG Media. In this role, he leads the firm's public affairs practice and is a member of its senior management team.
He is also the Founder and CEO of The Bingham Group, LLC, a lobbying firm working to advance the interests of businesses, nonprofits, and associations at the municipal and state level.
Prior to launching the firm in 2017, A.J. served as Director of Government Affairs for the Real Estate Council of Austin, one of the most powerful business associations in the region.
He began his lobbying career at one of Texas’ top lobbying firms over two legislative sessions, and also previously worked at a leading Texas government procurement consulting firm.
A.J. devotes considerable amounts of time to his own philanthropic endeavors, particularly focused on Austin youth and education. He is the founder and Chair of The Bingham Group Foundation, which provides unrestricted grants to nonprofits creating educational and economic access for underserved communities in the Austin Metro.
He has served and held leadership positions on numerous boards including, Austin Habitat for Humanity, Austin Monitor, Trail of Lights Foundation, Austin Sunshine Camps, Blanton Museum of Art National Leadership Board, Urban Land Institute (ULI) Austin, Thinkery, Mainspring Schools, The Dell Seton Fitfy, and the Young Men’s Business League of Austin (The YMBL).
He is currently the Immediate Past Chair of the Long Center for Performing Arts, Vice Chair of the 4ATX Foundation (Austin FC’s non-profit arm), and Advocacy Chair on the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board.
Outside of the firm, A.J. has also taught MBA level courses on business and policy at Rice's Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business, and Austin's Concordia University Texas.
A.J. grew up in South Austin and attended Austin ISD schools including graduating from the city's nationally ranked public high school, the LBJ Science Academy, now Liberal Arts and Science Academy.
He holds a B.A.in Political Science from Wake Forest University and a J.D. from Washburn University School of Law.
