Music, Activism, and Politics with Riders Against the Storm
Today’s episode (133) features Austin-based hip-hop (and husband/wife) duo, Riders Against the Storm aka Chaka and Qi Dada.
Arriving in 2009, the pair quickly began to distinguish themselves in the ‘Live Music Capital of the World,” including Band of the Year' honors at the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Austin Music Awards.
Understanding that art and performance are keys to transforming the individual spirit, they have built institutions that aid in this mission, including Body Rock ATX, and RAS Day music festival, a standout of the ATX live music scene for 6 years.
And while their music continues to take hold they are growing their legacy into tech and philanthropic platforms, activism and politics.
