ABOUT CHRIS SHORTER
Selected for the position in February 2019, Chris most recently served in leadership roles for the District of Columbia (DC) Government for the past 10 years. These included the district’s Director of Public Works; COO for the Department of Health, and as COO and Chief of Staff for the district’s Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services.
In Austin Chris serves on the leadership team of City Manager Spencer Cronk, directing city departments covering Health & Environment; Culture & Lifelong Learning. These are: Parks and Recreation, Austin Public Health, Austin Resource and Recovery, Animal Services, and the Austin Public Library.
